Spring: Sing Jazz

Thursdays, April 12 - June 7, 2018
7:00 - 8:30 pm

Eight weeks devoted to one genre! Enjoy the repertoire, vocal technique, and train your ear to harmony. All are welcome. No experience or audition required.

Adult String Ensemble Classes

Tuesdays (Beginners) or Wednesdays (Intermediate/Advanced)
7:30 - 8:30 pm 

Beginner level spring term starts March 6 – May 16
Intermediate level spring term starts March 7 – May 17

String ensembles for adults (ages 23 and beyond), who wish to reconnect with their instruments, and/or who would like to learn an instrument from the very beginning. Participants are strongly advised to take weekly private lessons as well. 
Both ensembles will perform in a year-end concert in the Al Green Theatre on May 22 at 5:00 pm.

MNjcc Community Choir in Concert

Wed May 30 and Thurs May 31
8:00 pm (Doors open at 7:30 pm)

The Al Green Theatre
This concert will feature presentations from the MNjcc Community Choir directed by Mark Ramsay and assisted directed by Briony Glassco. Accompanied by Asher Farber. The choir will feature varied works that they have been working on, and polishing during the 2017-18 season. Seating can only be guaranteed up to 15 minutes prior to show time, after which seats may be sold to rush patrons. No refunds.
Box office opens on site one (1) hour prior to the performance

Klezmer Ensemble

7:30 - 9:30 pm

Instrumentalists are welcome to this inspiring chamber group. Develop solid arranging and ensemble-playing skills while exploring the fundamentals of Klezmer music. Conductor: Eric Stein

Community Choir: Auditioned

Wednesdays, September 6 2017 – June 2018 
7:30 – 9:30 pm

Assistant Conductor: Briony Glassco
A dynamic 75 member SATB auditioned choir. Sing world, jazz, classical, Jewish, folk, gospel and pop music. Program is augmented with guest conductors and workshop leaders such as Maestro Alvaro Lozano Gutierrez (Spain), Aaron Jensen, Micah Barnes and others.

Daytime Choir

Are you an adult who LOVES to sing? No experience or sight-reading necessary. Large co-ed choir! Join us, and fill your life with the joy of singing in harmony. Conductor: Gillian Stecyk. Missed dates: Dec 26 (Boxing Day), Jan 2 (New Year’s), March 13 (March Break), July 17 (SICA Singers).

The Al Green Theatre
Celebrate spring at our Music Ensembles Concert featuring the Daytime Choir and Klezmer Ensemble. This concert will feature presentations from two of our MNjcc community music ensembles, the Klezmer ensemble, directed by Eric Stein, and the Daytime Choir directed by Gillian Stecyk, accompanied by Asher Farber. Each ensemble will feature varied works that they have been working on, and polishing during the 2017-18 season.
Tickets are $10. Seating can only be guaranteed up to 15 minutes prior to show time, after which seats may be sold to rush patrons. No refunds.
